A young teenage girl was having problems, and she just did not know what to do. Things were going wrong; she was making
bad grades in school, and her parents and friends just did not understand her. Her life was miserable.
One night, she had all that she could take. She could not stand her life anymore. She was failing her classes. Her friends
hated her, and she was distressed. She thought to herself, "If I died today..., no one would care. I just do not belong here; it
does not matter how hard that I try. I do not belong. I ca not do anything right. I just as well as be dead. I am going
to end it all. That is what I am going to do."
During her short life, she was told to call on God. "Call where?" she thought. "I just can not pick up the phone and dial
operator assistance. Or, Can I?"
"It could not hurt." She wondered. If I die now, or I will die later; it would not be much difference. What could it hurt?"
she thought.
The young girl picked up the phone and dialed 0. Usually she would always get a recording, but this time a woman answered.
"Hello, this is God's operator; how may I
direct
your call?"
The young girl stuttered for a moment. "I....I....I am having problems with my life and I dont know where to turn..."
"What is wrong sweetie? Maybe, I can help you?" the woman replied.
"Im failing 7th grade, and I study real hard, but I do not know what to do anymore. I do not have any real friends, and
all of those kids make fun of me... My parents had rather be out partying than taking care of me. I feel so alone, and I do
not know what to do."
The woman in a calming voice said, "My name is Mary, and I think that I can help. Do you have a Bible that you can use?"
"Yes, I have a Bible, but I do not use it very much." She said sadly.
"That is OK. I want you to get some paper and pencil, and I am going to tell you where to look some things up in the Bible.
It will make you feel better. I promise. Do you understand?" Mary asked.
"Yes, there are some paper and a pen

the phone. What do you want me to write down?" The girl asked.
"This is what I want you to write:

Thank you Mary! By the way, my name is Julie."
"Julie, may I read a scripture to you?"
"Yes" she answered.
"John 14:27 Peace, I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart
be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Mary said.
"Julie, now when we hang up I want you to go and read your Bible and if you have any question please call this phone number

"Thank you Mary! I feel so much better. It is like a weight that has been lifted off of my chest." Julie's voice was much
clearer than it has been in a long time. "Goodbye, Mary."
"Goodbye my child, remember that God loves you, and so do I." Mary answered.
Julie hung up the phone and started reading her Bible. Some of the things she understood, but some she did not. She thought
that she would ask someone later. That night she fell asleep with a clearer conscious and with the Bible in her hands.
The next day, the preacher, from the little church down the street, stopped by to say hello and to invited Julie and her
parents to church. This time Julie's parents said, Yes."
The next day, Julie's whole family went to church. The sermon was on God's love. Julie felt so much better. Everyone talked
to them and said that they were so happy to have them at church. Julie had never had so many hugs in her life. She saw some
of her classmates at church, and some even asked if they could do homework together. Julie was smiling from ear to ear because
she was so happy.
As the preacher met them at the back door shaking their hands. He said, "I hope that you will come back. Our door is always
open for you. We do Bible study on Wednesday nights. I hope you can join us. Oh, just wear the clothes that you wear to your
jobs and to school. We arent fancy around here. We just love the Lord.
And every morning say to yourselves that God loves me. It is a special message to us all." Then he smiled and winked at
Julie.
It was a special message at that. Unknown to Julie, but after her phone call Friday night. Mary did some calling
